Grant Tremblay, Class of 2006, Wins Undergraduate Student Prize of the Astronomical Society of New York

Grant Tremblay, a graduating UR Physics and Astronomy major from the Class of 2006, has been announced as the winner of this year's Undergraduate Student Prize of the Astronomical Society of New York (ASNY). Grant's research, conducted under the guidence of Prof. Allice Quillen, has been published as a paper in the Astrophysical Journal entitled, "The Warped Nuclear Disk of Radio Galaxy 3C 449" (ApJ 643, 101 (2006)). Grant presented his work at the Spring 2006 Meeting of the Astronomical Society of New York, held at the Rochester Institute of Technology on April 29, 2006, as well as at the Department of Physics and Astronomy's Senior Symposium on May 16, 2006.
Grant received his B.S. in Physics and Astronomy with a minor in Mathematics, and was a co-recipient of the Department's Stoddard Prize for best Senior Thesis.
