Rochester Girl Scout Troup #420 Visits Department of Physics and Astronomy
Frank L.H. Wolfs, Professor of Physics and Undergraduate Physics Advisor, hosted an outreach event for local Girl Scout Troup #420 on March 8, 2005.
Approximately twenty Girl Scouts, ranging from 4th through 6th grade, came to visit the Department of Physics and Astronomy. They enjoyed the opportunity for a hands-on learning experience about physics and science by playing with motion sensors. One excited young lady expressed "it was the greatest field trip they had ever had" and that "she never thought physics was so cool!"
This is only the beginning of outreach activities that will be hosted by Professor Frank Wolfs, helping and encouraging the young and the public to learn more about physics and science.
