Sophomore Siddharth Parameswaran Wins Three Awards and is a Member of the UR's National Team that Places Third in 2003
He's known as Sid on the River Campus by many colleagues, friends, faculty, and staff members.
Siddharth Parameswaran, a Physics Sophomore, has won the 2003 Iota Book Award (Phi Beta Kappa). This prize is awarded annually, recognizing outstanding members of the previous year's freshmen class who have shown scholarly achievemnent, humanistic values, co-curricular activities ,and leadership potential. The selections are made by the College's Deans. This award will be given Nov. 11, 2003 at 7:00 pm, in the Wells Brown Room of Rush Rhees Library.
Sid also won the The Delno Sisson Prize, in 2002-2003. This prize is awarded annually to the freshman who has "shown most improvement not only in academic work but in adjusting to college life and the student body." (see http://spider.pas.rochester.edu:8080/wwwPAS/PASforms/news/newsReader$0000370)
In addition, Sid has won this year's Physics Honors Prize. This prize is awarded annually by the Department of Physics and Astronomy to the sophomore student with the best academic record in the honors physics introductory sequence. He will be presented with this award at this year's 19th Dexter Lecture, Oct. 29, 2003 (BL109 at 3:45 pm).
