Tipton and deBarbaro to Serve on National DOE Committees in 2001
University of Rochester's Professor Paul Tipton has been appointed to serve on the Fermilab Program Advisory Committee (PAC) in 2001. This committee advises the director of the Fermilab National Accelerator Laboratory on its scientific experimental program. Prof. Tipton is also serving on the Techincal Review Board of the Babar detector at the B-Factory at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC).
Also in 2001, Dr. Pawel deBarbaro, a Senior Research Associate with Professor Bodek's CDF/CMS group, has been appointed to serve on the DOE/NASA Technical Review Panel of GLAST, a joint NASA-SLAC x-Ray/Gamma Ray space telescope. Dr. deBarbaro has also been serving as the Level-3 manager of the construction of the HCAL tile-fiber calorimeter for the CMS Experiment at the Larger Hadron Collider at CERN.
